Digital Ceramic Systems LTD are pleased to announce that our new ceramic colour technology for high firing temperatures is now available.

Inglaze transfers are a decorative technique used in ceramics, particularly in pottery and porcelain production. The term refers to the application of printed designs (transfers) onto a fired ceramic surface, followed by firing the piece at high temperatures. The glaze, which is the glassy coating applied to ceramics for both aesthetic and functional purposes, encapsulates the transfer, making it a permanent part of the ceramic surface.

Key Features of Inglaze Transfers:

  1. Durability: Because the transfer design is fused into the glaze during firing, inglaze transfers are highly resistant to wear, scratching, and fading. The design becomes an integral part of the ceramic surface. Ideal for Hotel ware.

  2. High-Temperature Firing: The ceramic piece is fired at a high temperature (often above 1000°C), which melts the glaze and allows the design to sink into it. This ensures that the transfer is protected by the glaze layer.

  3. Color Stability: The colors used in inglaze transfers are formulated to withstand high firing temperatures without significant color distortion or fading. This makes inglaze transfers ideal for intricate, colorful designs.

  4. Common Uses: Inglaze transfers are frequently used on tableware, such as plates, mugs, and bowls, as well as decorative items. They are also found on tiles, often used for murals and intricate architectural features.

  5. Design Complexity: This method allows for the transfer of complex, detailed designs that would be difficult or time-consuming to paint by hand.

Inglaze transfers provide a durable, visually appealing way to decorate ceramics, combining the beauty of detailed designs with the strength of a glazed finish.
